Hemming & Hawing

So I'm sitting here, watching stupid movies and handsewing the entire hem of a pretty full skirt and it's less than fabulous. I couldn't bear to ruin my streak of fine techniques on this dress by machine stitching the hem, so here I am. Yes, I'm a bit of a masochist, why do you ask? Anyway. This has pretty much been my entire weekend:
